    The Lawn Fertilization Process

    We recommend that your lawn be mowed a few days before we come to lay down your fertilizer. This will help us spread an even layer across your grass and penetrate the ground more evenly. Before we get started, we also make sure to check the weather. If there is any kind of precipitation on the radar in the coming days, we will put off your lawn fertilization until the rains pass. Heavy rains can wash away the fertilizer after it has been laid down, which would be counterproductive. It is also important that we avoid very wet grass on fertilization day because we will be giving your grass a thorough watering after we apply the fertilizer, and we don’t want to risk over watering your lawn. We do not recommend that you mow your lawn after fertilization as this can cause harm to your grass. 

    We also take into account weed control when fertilizing your lawn. Fertilizer does not distinguish between the plants that it feeds, so weeds can also feast on the new fertilizer. We will make sure that the weed population in your lawn is under control before we get started with fertilization. We don’t want your lawn to be overtaken with weeds!
